At the Campaign for Southern Equality, we make the choice each day to be relentlessly hopeful. During this time of extraordinary courage and strength in the face of relentless attacks against trans youth and their families in our community, your support means the world to us.
If you haven’t already, please make a one-time or monthly gift to sustain our Southern Trans Youth Emergency Project (STYEP) today. This project directly assists families of transgender youth in 13 Southern states who are facing the financial and logistical challenges of bans on medically necessary healthcare. When you give now, your gift will be DOUBLED, up to $50,000. Click here to donate.
You, and the incredible community we serve, are the reason we do this work every day. We draw hope this year from the many stories we hear each week. These include:
- Stories of the kids who smiled as they read messages of solidarity from trans adults in our chapbook, “You Are Powerful + You Are Loved.”
- A letter we received from a mom who breathed a sigh of relief knowing that STYEP could provide her the funding she needed to fill her car with gas and book a hotel room so her family could see a doctor across state lines.
- The resolve and strength of medical providers who seeing patients on weekends to make sure they can get the care they need.
- Photos from folks all across the country who organized concerts, drag shows, marathon gaming sessions on Twitch, and craft fair stands to raise funds for STYEP.
