SB14 is a gender affirming care ban currently in effect in Texas. The law prohibits Texas healthcare professionals from providing medically necessary healthcare for trans adolescents for the treatment of gender dysphoria – and threaten doctors’ licenses if they do. This makes care such as gender-affirming surgery, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and puberty blockers inaccessible in Texas for any trans person until they turn 18. Youth can still access mental health care, which is not restricted or banned by this law.
The Campaign for Southern Equality is working with partners across Texas, including Equality Texas and the Transgender Education Network of Texas, to provide resources and information to impacted families. Please use this form below to request more information.

Patient Navigation for Out-of-State Care & Emergency Grants for Impacted Families
Looking to identify a health care provider outside of Texas? The Campaign for Southern Equality can connect you to a patient navigator who can help talk through your situation, and identify a plan to access care from affirming providers in other states. We are also accepting requests for rapid response emergency grants of $500 to help parents and caregivers to youth directly impacted by SB14 during this challenging time. Grants can be made to the parent/caregiver of an impacted youth. To request support with patient navigation and emergency funding, fill out the form below.
