A surprising number of the lessons I learned working construction are proving helpful as we launch CSE. Like: the walls you build won’t be true – or stay up – unless you’ve first built a solid foundation.
These two pieces of news will no doubt sound a bit wonky at first blush, but they mean we’re building a sturdy foundation for CSE’s work for full LGBT equality across the South:
- First, we were granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS, which means that each gift to CSE is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. If you’ve been waiting to give, now’s a wonderful time to do so, and you can click here to make it happen.
- Second, we just learned that we were awarded our first grant by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, which will support Family Dinners and the public action campaigns we are launching this summer and fall.
None of this would be possible without the tremendous dedication of volunteers and board members who are donating grant writing services and organizational development expertise as we grow CSE.
