It’s been a really hard year across the country, in the South, and in South Carolina. We could focus on all the negative things that have happened, but instead we’d like to lift up and support our community and the people who continue to show up again and again. In that spirit – we’re excited to announce our South Carolina LGBTQ+ Community Care Mini Grants!
We’re offering grants of up to $500 each to support individuals, mutual aid groups, grassroots organizations, nonprofit organizations, and community collectives who are offering community care to LGBTQ+ South Carolinians. Applications are as of now, October 15th, and will remain open until midnight on November 15th.
Examples of events for LGBTQ+ communities we’re hoping to support with this grant:
- Skate event for LGBTQ youth
- Craft nights for trans youth
- Yoga in the park
- Pizza party
- LGBTQ+ movie screenings
- Programming uplifting trans youth and their families
- Dances for queer teens
- Letter-writing events
