[ssba-buttons]Erin came into my life when I least expected to find the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. They say love finds you when your least expecting it, and nothing could have been truer in our case. We met on an icy winter day at Starbucks for a platonic coffee. Four hours and aching cheeks later I knew I was in love. From that day forward we were inseparable. She often asks me when I knew I she was the one. It must have been that she was wearing high heels in the snow, or it could have been the fact that she kept “falling” to see if I would catch her. I did, and I never stopped.

That’s what love is all about, catching each other when you fall, holding each other up when you’re down, and laughing about it when it’s over. Even our worst days together have been better than my best day without her. Love and commitment are sacred things, things I believe should be denied to no one. I want more than anything to be able to commit myself under law to Erin, and to be recognized for the love and devotion we share. We are but two people whose roots have become so intertwined that we consist more of one tree than another, just because we were both marked female at birth shouldn’t stop us from being married. We are here today to show that we believe in Equal Rights, and we will not bow down to what we are told we can and cannot do. Love is Love, it’s that simple.
