It is no secret that the current administration is unjustly attacking the LGBTQ+ community, specifically transgender people. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump signed an executive order barring transgender female athletes from competing in women’s or girls’ sporting events.
With anti-transgender sports legislation on the rise across the country, it is imperative that we advocate for transgender liberation, especially for transgender youth. In this sit-down virtual interview, Emma Chinn, the Communications and Policy Manager for the Campaign for Southern Equality spoke with two transgender athletes to discuss the impact of anti-transgender sports legislation. In this interview, both athletes detail how we can collectively champion for the transgender community and why sports are for everyone.
