The Campaign for Southern Equality is actively seeking a local elected official in the South who will grant a marriage license to a LGBT couple because it’s the right thing to do. We are traveling across North Carolina, standing with couples as they approach the marriage license counter and ask their local elected official to stand with them as an act of conscience. Couples across the South are also writing personally to their marriage license office to pose this question.
On August 30, we stood with Diana and Li and Kristin and L in Forsyth County, N.C., as they were denied marriage licenses.
You can read coverage of the action by the Winston-Salem Journal and a commentary from Diana at her blog Trans Preacher’s Wife.
