The first-ever LGBTQ Pride parade in a small Southern town. Trail-blazing and visionary projects from BIPOC Southern artists and creatives. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in emergency assistance relief to LGBTQ people impacted by COVID-19.
These are just a few of the efforts that the Campaign for Southern Equality has proudly supported through our Southern Equality Fund, one of our core programs through which we provide grants and resources to heroic organizers changing the game for LGBTQ Southerners.
Today, we’re kicking off a $10,000 matching gift fundraising challenge for the Southern Equality Fund, graciously pledged to us by a generous donor. To celebrate Pride Month and get the ball rolling on the match, can you kick in $25 to support LGBTQ Southerners? Click here to make a donation.
In the weeks ahead we’re excited to share with you some stories of how the Southern Equality Fund has helped fuel grassroots efforts for LGBTQ dignity and equality. Since the start of the pandemic, we have been able to move $300,000 directly into the hands of LGBTQ Southerners, who have been disproportionately harmed by the economic and health impacts of COVID-19.
Pride Month is about celebration, resistance, and reflection – but it’s also about supporting our community and making it clear that we’re all in this movement together.
One way you can take action today is by donating to the Southern Equality Fund and supporting grassroots LGBTQ organizers and families. Please click here to pitch in $25 or whatever you can – every dollar will be immediately matched.
