We’ve got some exciting events from community partners this week in Asheville – and we wanted to be sure you knew about them:
First, this Thursday at 9:30pm, Alexis Black will host a special Drag Show benefiting our work toward lived and legal LGBTQ Southerners at Catawba Brewing in South Slope. The $5-$10 suggested donation at the door will support CSE, and it promises to be a great show and a fun way to celebrate Pride Month! RSVP on Facebook here, and we’ll see you there!
Then Saturday, June 26, we’re pumped to celebrate Pride Night, the culmination of our month-long partnership with the South Slope Blues, Asheville City Soccer Club, and Olde London Road. Here’s what’s on deck – RSVP for the free event on Facebook by clicking here:
- 4:00-6:00pm: At Olde London Road in the River Arts District, the Campaign for Southern Equality team will be hanging out and celebrating. The South Slope Blues will host face-painting and chants, we’ll have a soccer tennis tourney, and Asheville City Soccer players will sign autographs. There will be Pride merch from CSE and giveaways!
- 6:00-7:30pm: More pre-game fun with the Olde London Road crew and more giveaways from our sponsors!
- 7:30-9:30pm: Stick around and watch the game streamed live at Olde London Road – or head to the game at Greenwood field at UNCA. (if you want to go to the stadium, get your game tix soon—they sell out!)
We’re so grateful for all of the awesome organizations and businesses supporting CSE this year. Huge thanks to Pride Night and Olde London Road brewery sponsors Hi-Wire Brewing, Boojum Brewing Company, Highland Brewing, Foothills Brewing, and New Belgium Brewing – and other sponsors including Pennycup Coffee, Battlecat Coffee Bar, 10th Muse Comfort Food, and Zia Taqueria!
